Top Kid Friendly New York City Vacation Destinations

Our family vacation trips took us to New York City in the summer of 2006. During this time we have many child-friendly destinations. In this article I will list our very favorite and the child of the stops.

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Iceland

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Iceland was one of our favorite stops on the journey. The ride is easy to become children, and the history park around the statue and Ellis offer Iceland Museumplenty of room for energy to devote between tours. If you are in touring car racing, the interior of the statue, a limited amount of time passes are interested, are available daily at no cost on a first-come first-served basis by the ferry company

Although there who have taken advantage of the Park Service photography service for your group photo in front of the statue. You get a chance at a perfect angle to you and the statue show .... good family vacation souvenir.

NBC StudioTour

This tour was especially child-friendly and fun. We visited some of the studios, including NBC Nightly News studio, and the Saturday Night Live studio. The tour offers some interactive activities for the group. The group has to go through the motions of creating a newscast also a weather report.

The tour begins in the pastry shop of the NBC Experience store and back ends in the Studio Store.

The Brooklyn Bridge

The bridge is one of thecompletely free in New York City attractions. You can, of course, indicate how much time you want to be on the bridge. There are signs along the bridge listing the history of the bridge. The views of New York City from the bridge is spectacular. The area around the base of the bridge is a beautiful area of downtown New York City. Chinatown is only a few blocks north of the bridge, and is another great place to walk through.

One of the best things about your spendingFamily vacation time on the bridge is simply the time together, hiking, and learning more about the country.

Guns, Butter, and Social Injustice

An old man with trembling hands, counts some money skein a receptionist in a doctor's office. The sign above the cashier says:

"If you are a Medicare customer you have to be prompted for your $ 135 deductible before services are rendered to be paid."

But the old man only comes to $ 95.00. Will he be denied? This could only happen in a place in the industrialized world - America.

In recent congressional hearings, a representative of the Congressasked some CEOs of mortgage companies investigated, if they put too much compensation, which will go into the millions. The answer was ... Silence. Then he asked if maybe one trillion would be too much to pay a CEO, or perhaps a few trillion ... Another silence.

Frances D'Emilio (AP) On 10 March said that the Vatican will pay for the social injustice, "modeled on the ancient maxim:" The rich are getting richer and the poor get poorer. "

"In the last update of the Vatican, asGod's law is being violated in today's world was Monsignor Gianfranco Girotti, head of the Apostolic Penitentiary, which prompted the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, which are in his opinion the "new sins."

"The poor will get poorer and the rich getting richer, feeding unsustainable social injustice," Girotti said in the interview published Sunday. "

Is greed always limits? The rich seem to have any of their insatiable appetites. A 100-foot yacht? No --a 200-foot yacht! Perhaps one in every port in the world. And a house in every city in the world. Perhaps a private army ... It never ends. And since the rich typically hold the reins of power - it never changes. This goes in the opposite direction of the spiritual values, the values of Jesus said in his Sermon on the Mount.

Matthew 5: 3-12:

- Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

- Blessed are they that mourn, for they arecomforted.

- Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

- "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

- Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

- Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.

- Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

- Blessed are they who suffer persecution for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Wealth for some iswith great spiritual costs for everyone, even the rich, because their spiritual life is over. How could anyone, wealth for themselves, when so many people are hurt in so many ways in this world? The rich, it will never make it through the eye of the needle, regardless of how skillfully they rationalize their fate. You yourself are a joke.

The current argument is that our social programs known as dewatering and transfer our money into the big Wall Street casinowe must guard against "terrorists" regardless of cost. But so much money on foreign wars really protect us, or is killing our social programs so that people can no longer go to doctors when they are sick, or buy medicine when they need it? The insurance companies make sure that we are the first few thousand dollars of medical bills itself a "deductible" they call it pay. How can poor people afford to go to a doctor these days? Health care is out of control, and we kill our old and our patients as safe as if a fairy tale terrorists bombed their homes.

The more sinister aspect is that the killing of social programs "may be" hidden agenda ". Social programs will be hated by certain segments of our society since Franklin D. Roosevelt to the poor a break and share the wealth of our country, a hatred of the Ronald Reagan era were exacerbated. An effective way to kill social programs such as Social Security and Medicare, it isspend all our tax dollars on bombs, so that no one is for the continuation of social programs left.

The idea is that the country so much militarily, through the stay, that the deficits have become enormously to break everything in the name of the flag. Then Congress has no choice but to cut back on domestic programs. We have seen this game in the last seven years, from where a war was to be kept alive that should have ended long ago, and had never led in the first place. President Bill Clinton from officein 2001 with a federal budget surplus of $ 127 billion. Some deficits under George Bush are so far: 2003 $ 378 billion, 2004 $ 413 billion, 2005 $ 318 billion 2006 $ 296 billion. Is that a coincidence?

We no longer have to ask why foreign wars continue well beyond their relevance, or why the money remains in bombs instead of aid for everyday Americans that have no medical care be cast. . . It is a program. Soon, older people can lose their Medicare and Social Security as well, if webelieve what those who want to quit these programs say. By hook or crook all our social security, one day in his money on Wall Street, inflation will eat us alive channeled.

Those who should feel hate social programs, we leave all of us for ourselves. Sick, poor, needy, old - it does not matter - "If you are not smart enough or healthy enough to make it on your own, do not expect me to help you, you're not just helping lazy and deserve. "Unfortunately, the attitude is of those who hateSocialism, or social programs of any kind, against the distribution of wealth beyond their immediate families.

They are, itching to go to war with whom they can so that they move forward their agenda, sale of patriotism, while our young men and women maimed and those who visited America and throughout the world as an out of control, immature Country . They are those whose vision goes no further than this life, and do not know that they can not accept it with them and haveno idea how wealth is to exchange and help all the other happy, not rich, what was Jesus. Jesus was a socialist, he was responsible for the poor and for the people.

Those who are hardened hate social programs, not mentally, merciless people who are nothing but selfish and only interested in their own prosperity. Try, their greed for complaining about "lazy people who want to live rationalize their money, but that's a smokescreen. It is not true. What we areView in America today is a power struggle between the vast majority of people who want nothing more than justice - and a few greedy, ignorant, insensitive, and the people connected to each other who all want the breaks for themselves, and have the power to take it off.

Wrapped in the flag and religion, these hypocrites have sent all the people channeled the money, our tax money into the military-industrial complex and are deliberately exhausting our money so that a huge budget deficit isthat lead to the elimination of social programs. This is a very selfish agenda of a segment of society, people who would like the social programs that have kept our country strong and show off for so long.

Do be fooled by the rhetoric and scare tactics. It's about money and power, while it should be, as Jesus lived, maintaining and sharing, healing and working hard to improve all of them. Jesus did not amass wealth, he gave everything, even his life for others. But some of today not even a nickel, unless of course, it is deductible.

The country is at a crossroads. We need to be situated ourselves to understand what is happening. We need those who deliberately spread quarrel and fight among us who hate and keep us distracted by irrelevant trivialities encouraged, while our pockets and our souls will be picked once. They are those who fear the terrible, that could wake the people. Middle class Americans do not understand how muchInfluence that can have them if and when they find their voice.

This is a very important time in our history, and in the history of the world. The old methods of few, all of the wealth now prevails, which means that the rest of us must fight and claw, which left only little, or whatever trickles ever sent, "as Reagan promoted.

All of this has to change soon, if they change peacefully. The world needs to be more social, more compassionate, more sharing. The rich laughbehind our backs not to be tolerated much longer. It is not that the middle class wants to be rich, to understand it, that money will never make anyone happy, quite the contrary, it always makes people more greedy. Why do you seek the middle class that is fair, that's all taken, just as human beings, not better or worse than those to hold the reins of power and now refuse to share it.

So it is bombs and hatred, or in medicine and compassion? If those in power to surrender, or will be asocial revolution (peaceful) be required? If the quality of rule of our bank accounts, or the quality of our minds? A new vision is emerging, even in politics, where the old ways were rejected hatred, division and character assassination. Money and power in the hands of the few means that the people no peace, no time to focus on things that are really important to spend as spirituality, and how to share, not only with regard to ourselves and our own .

But this iswhat the wealthy few will not, regardless of their religious manifestations of love, or the Bible, places they contend that they think to excuse their greed. You want to believe the people, their stories of fear and danger, and would like all of us middle Americans just gone! Jesus would not have understood this at all.

It is time that we wake up if we really love our country. You are sure to specify what our country has become, here on Main Street. Where is our standardLife gone? Whose pockets were lined? And in the eyes of the rest of the world what America is about? See for yourself, maybe the Vatican has it right this time about "social injustice."

Is it time to make the world a better place?

If You Meet the Buddha on the Road, Kill Him!

Many Zen sayings in a double-take. At first glance, they are pretty far out and ridiculous, but if their deeper meanings are explained, and better yet actually experienced, can cause deep personal change.

It is for anyone practicing Buddhism, of course, now deeply in debt to the Buddha because of the freedom one attains. It can actually point to the deification of the Buddha and to him as the savior who will help watch over our actions and ourselves with the lifeparticularly those with Christian backgrounds. Unfortunately, it's all in your head.

Perhaps young monks from this kind of transfer of responsibility to cure an imaginary father figure to mention such a thing as Zen master peeing on the Buddha statue, or to show the dropping ash on them, disrespectful manner to how ridiculous it is to . deify The statue is made of bronze or stone, but the ideas that accompany the statue are made of pure illusion, according to Zen masters.

SomeTo prohibit any kind of religious statue or representation of their deity, simply because this issue of idolatry. Some even prohibit, in which God's name out of fear of conception! The trend is too lazy and just worship an idol, rather than transforming the progress of hard work into a spiritual person.

Other religions promote statues everywhere and every kind, as a reminder to be religious. Unfortunately, the statues in a manner to be alivedelusional, more in the center of religion, but of what religion really is, which one is bigger than us with something made. Rather than find inside, where changes are necessary, we look at statues, like deer starring into headlights!

In many parts of the Buddhist statues are plentiful and generally represent the seated Buddha in meditation - just an innocent statue in bronze formed from a mold. But can the last few that take on a life of its own statue. ForFor example, people may say that the statue never moved from her teaching position while he or she moves like a madman all over the place, usually very little completion at the end of everything.

The statue can also show a Mona Lisa smile, where you can never be sure whether or not the Buddha smiles. Some days he seems to smile, and others, not to smile. It can be done with this and see if the Buddha is not smiling or having done something good. . .or is bad. The mind can actually cause the smiling Buddha, or not!

The idea is therefore not to kill the Buddha or his teachings, but to worship the tendency to kill him. The Buddha knew that worship him, the doctor would never clear up, because even if the therapist is entirely given up his own worship, they had not cultivated the wisdom of complete enlightenment. They would not have the insight necessary to have developed on this kind of psychological seeIllusions.

It is much easier to fall into the messenger instead of the message because the message is rarely good news. The news may be good news for the future, but the good news or major changes in our lives require exponentially and big changes always with a few of our comfort zones.

We are quite satisfied with just adore. Still, it is easy and comfortable, and the trouble always truthful or goless greedy and less to do, slander or gossip less, or perhaps less TV and prayed more or less food and give the extra time to those who are less fortunate, or run one of the things that we have of lessening. . . well that will cost burden. Pray very much easier than actually for someone to help them.

How can we help the hungry people in Africa, for example? We enter the church, to help transfer the money abroad. What can we do? Why make the effort to changeourselves, if only money works for some of the trick. Or does it? We hope that since it has to make money for our national idol.

Would you look at African children the same way that we are realistic about their own children anymore. When our own children starve, we would be in the church and hope that it will filter down to them? No, we would drop everything to get food to them. We would be passionate about it. So what's the difference? Is it the distance, the culturalDifferences, eh?

Maybe we can not be responsible for the world because the world is so big, and we can only do so much. And so we pray for others, and we pray for a good feeling for us, and we go to church and sing praises to ensure that we will go to heaven. And we create our little comfort zones.

We barricade ourselves in our cul-de-sacs and held the cross hanging from our necks in the night and prayed for protection against an uncertain world, hiding under our blankets andPray for the rest of the world, how well protected. And peeing on the cross never crosses our minds, not kill Jesus, when we met him on the street. For what would become of us?

What will become of us?
